Swing Timing:1 & 2,3 & 4, 5,6
I'm sure you've heard, the Swing is Huge. This dance has many forms..Lindy, jitterbug, West Coast, East Coast and a few more. The Jitter bug and Lindy are what you're seeing in the clubs now. Swing is pretty simple but don't let the fast pace fool you, if not done properly it will look "Sloppy".
Additional Steps: [none at this time]

The Swing is a *Ball Lead This animation to the right shows the Jitterbug at a very slow speed to demonstrate proper foot positioning. This dance should be done with very small steps. Don't allow your upper body weight to fall back during the back step, make that step more of a time keeper.

Similar to the Fox Trot, the swing should be done with very comfortable steps that don't require much movement. For a more realistic timing animation, click *here

T
his swing is very close to the timing of a song such as "Rock this Town" by Brian Setzer/Stray Cats. Notice that the amount of time on the back step is so short that you really don't have time to allow your weight to fall back. Always keep your weight toward your partner.
